Test instrument for measuring leakage current at ultrasound systems
The SECULIFE UL test instrument was designed for testing TEE (transesophageal echocardiography) probes. A complete system test is executed by simply pressing a key. Both the upper and the lower leakage current limit values, within a range of 0.5 to 500 μA, are tested in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
The SECULIFE UL was specially designed for testing the electrical safety of all types of diagnostic ultrasound transducers – independent of the ultrasound devices with which these are usually used. Although the SECULIFE UL can be used with literally all types of ultrasound transducers, it’s recommended in particular for TEE (transesophageal echocardiography) transducers prior to each use. In accordance with IAC standards and guidelines, all TEE probes must be tested for electrical leakage current before each use. The SECULIFE UL checks the integrity of the transducer’s external insulation and conducts testing for any capacitive leakage current. The SECULIFE UL is the most advanced instrument of its type which is currently available on the market. It opens up entirely new dimensions for testing the electrical safety of ultrasound transducers.
Leakage current testing in consideration of upper and lower limit values specified by the manufacturer of the ultrasound device. Testing is conducted before each use in order to protect the patient. The simple display makes it possible for personnel without technical training to operate the instrument.
